Yesterday Carey Burke and I traveled to Mt Charleston Lodge to attend a Celebration of Life for Dick Taylor who passed away a few weeks ago. The event was put on by Dicks family and was attended by about 200 of his friends and family. We met and talked with several old friends and got to enjoy several stories about Dick's past. His grandchildren sang one of his favorite songs and read some letters they had written to Dick before he passed. All in all it was a very nice gathering to remember a great man.

Dick Taylor, in case you don't know, was General Manager of the Hacienda and a big part in the success of the hotel. He also was a part of the Mt Charleston development, and an historian about the mountain. Dick has published several books and possessed great knowledge about the area.
