I have always wondered what it would be like to hear the sound of someone speaking Italian with a heavy U.S. southern accent. Now that I know there were 2 settlement locations in Louisiana, maybe I'll travel that way some day and experience it for myself. A bigger thrill would be to hear a southerner speaking in heavy Sicilian dialect.
