One pretty reliable way to differentiate...

...between Cristy and Jones vs regular hat & cane molds is that the inserts were usually convex in the C&J chips (conforming to the curvature of the chip) and concave on the later H&C chips, which this one obviously is.

For an example, take a look at the Showboat $1's in The Chip Guide...

If you look at N2148 (C&J) you can see that the inserts are concave, conforming to the curvature of the chip. Below it is N2150 (H&C), where the inserts are convex, bowing in toward the center of the chip.
