Re: NCR- IMPORTANT CRUISE LINE ADVICE!!

That is kind of what happened to Cindy on our Alaskan crusie when she had C. Dificile. The cruise doctor took a few hours to come to our room. Then he didn't really know what to do (which in this case may be understandable). He gave her fruit juice to drink and when that didn't work he gave her morphine. We were the first off once we landed at Sitka and they had the ambulance ready. Long story short she had to stay in the local hospital critical care ward for a week and the doctor said he had never seen a case that bad. You don't stay in a hospital for a week unless you are really sick. We didn't take the insurance offered so I had to eat the $1500 extra cost to get us home plus the hotel room cost. Holland America did have a guy who main job was to handle problems like this and he did help with some transportation, etc. Luckily she has made most of a full recovery in the last 4 years.
