Another Question About Nevada $8 Chips
In Response To: Question About Nevada $8 Chips ()

Sorry, Paul, I don't have answer to your $8 list question, but if I might piggyback on your thread, here's another question --

Do any of the LV casinos put these $8 chips on the table for use, or just keep them in the cage?
That is, would any blackjack or craps or other table games, such as Pai-Gow, have a stack of these in their racks?

The reason for my curiosity is that Nevada Gaming always walks a fine line between chips made for a gaming purpose vs. chips made solely to "walk" as collectibles. If NGCB asked a casino owner, during the chip approval process: "So, Mr. Casino Executive, how do you plan to use these in your establishment?", what would be a plausible answer?

Is a marketing angle, i.e. attracting Asian players for the Chinese New Year -- since eight is a lucky number in Asian cultures -- a sufficient reason that would pass Gaming?

Just wondering.
