It all started in May 2006. My friends and I had the NLHE bug. I had hosted a home game every Saturday for about 10 of us for 6 months. The chips I used were the plain heavy plastic type you pick up from a games store. While they did the job, I had been watching a lot on poker on TV and the chips they used looked (and sounded) so much better. I wanted what they had to make my home game even better.

I searched the internet and finally ended up on ebay. Until that time I had never even logged onto ebay. I searched for chips on ebay Australia & found nothing. I then checked out US ebay and saw more chip sets of all types than I could believe! I started searching around and discovered that there were 1000’s of “casino” chips on ebay as well. I thought “hey I have some of those lying around”. I dug out the ones I had in the shed (only about half a dozen) and took a good look at them. That was it. I bought some US chips on ebay from an Australian seller and had them in my hands within a week. I went from 6 chips to 20 and had a collection!! I was hooked.......I remember when I hit my first 100 chips and thought how cool it was.

I found the chipboard through John Kallmans Aussie chip site. I found it by accident when searching for info on the half a dozen chips I had in my shed. From there I started emailing John and he introduced me to the chip board and also sent me all the info for the . I signed up and have been a member since 2007.

After this short period of time I already have great memories of finding great chips, dealing with some fantastic people and the knowledge that I'm in this for the long haul. I'm currently trying to add to my colection daily and spend every other waking hour working on my website. I'm 40 going on 20 with a sever case of self diagnosed OCD so I'm pretty confident there's many many good years of chipping to come!

My story must end in thanks. To all the people I have bought chips from, who have sold chips on ebay and who have traded with me. Thanks for the years of pleasure you have given me just by mailing me a few chips. 11,000 chips later and I love this hobby & collecting more every single day.
