The Sun Times reports "Bar owner found dead in fire" and the photo shows a total loss but, with the "Horseshoe Inn" (horshoe shaped) sign still intact!
Back in the 1950s, this Schiller Park bar at 9639 Irving Park road had its ties to gambling and was raided on Aug. 7th 1959 simultaneously with 12 other places and one of the raids
"Nabs" the Mayors wife, as a keeper!!
The other raided bars were some better known Chicago area illegal casinos.
