Regarding the 'painted on insert-look,' maybe they were used at more than one location or even on different games at the club... just like the 7,000 HC Roulettes (and other casino chips) that had been painted on when they reached that IL women's club in the 50s. Kind of makes the chips more interesting in my opinion...
