Casino related, but not a chip--50 yrs old

Dean found this 50 year old bit of history in our local flea market.

From “The Rise of the Biggest Little City” by Dwayne Kling

“265 North Virginia Street; licensed from 1933 to 1960 for slots, 21, roulette, faro, poker, and craps.

The Stag Inn was a bar with a few slots and occasionally a table game or a poker game. During the nearly thirty years the Stag was licensed, some of the licensees were Santino Oppio, Romano Benedetti, Bert Biancone, and Ken Caldwell.

The Stag Inn closed in 1960, and the property was purchased by Lincoln Fitzgerald. The site is now part of Fitzgeralds Casino-Hotel.”

The illustration is by the famous Reno illustrator, Lou Hymer, who did many for casinos and local businesses

Enjoy!
