I think the stockholders who basically put up the money to finance these companies should get a return. After all it is an investment and though they do nothing as you say, they do risk their monies.
As far as the executives they deserve a decent salary it's part of how America works.
The problem is that many of these salaries fall into the category of indecent especially when their salaries bonuses and stock options increase 2 and 3 fold while the common worker who is trying to make a basic living is losing his job as a result.
