I remember in the Early 70's there was a (for lack of a better term) concerned Citizen that had a Sign in His back Yard facing the Tracks that said "No Billion Dollar national debt".

If it was only that way Now.

Remember G.H.W. Bush and the S&L Disaster?
Remember Ronnie Reagan and Star wars?
Remember Bill Clinton and the Supposed Surplus? Peace dividend.
Remember G.W. Bush and Casper Weinberger Claiming the War in Iraq would not cost us anything and we Can Cut our income and come out ahead.

Our National debt climbed in each of those instances.
