Bottles (1960's mainly but some were collecting in the early 1900's) are an older hobby as are the others like stamps and coins. It takes years for hobbies to mature. Great clubs, shows, magazines and a format like this to educate others and to make friends is how a hobby grows.
I have collected bottles longer than chips and have become an expert in the field as well as an outhouse archaeologist.
