In Response To: Re: Sal sagev 1938 Item ()

No, that isn't where the Sal Sagev bar was located. If you look at the stuff in the post I made yesterday, you'll see on the matchbook that the Sal Sagev Bar's address was 1 Fremont Street. The picture of the ashtray is hard to read, but it, too, says 1 Fremont Street. The postcards both show the BAR sign over the corner entrance...which would have been 1 Fremont Street.

BUT...the doors on the left were a bar at least once grin . The address for that entrance was 13 Fremont Street. I know the address because there's one postcard of the Golden Gate where you can just see a part of the sign for the Lucky 13 Club, which was at 13 Fremont Street from 1956-1957. Before the Lucky 13 Club, the Keyhole Bar was at 13 Fremont Street (per the 1953 LV City Directory).

BTW, the 1953 city directory shows the Sal Sagev Hotel, Sal Sagev Barber Shop and the Sal Sagev Beauty Shop all located at #3 Fremont Street. #5 Fremont Street was listed as the Sal Sagev Restaurant.
