It's generally considered common courtesy to request permission in advance to use scans from another website. Personally speaking, I have no objection to someone borrowing a scan from my AC CHIPS site for their own personal use, or to describe a particular chip they are looking for, PROVIDED it is not going to be used for commercial purposes... and by commercial purposes I mean using my scan to advertise your chip for sale... including on ebay. Reason being; my chip image is NOT the chip that is actually being offered for sale. Website builders have gone through a lot of work and expense developing their sites and it is not right for someone to come along and simply take images without asking permission first.
