~~~ my early eBay days (1997-8) most of what I sold was w/o any scans and I had to rely strictly on accurate descriptions along with TCR numbers for Nevada material. The hard part was selling ivories w/ only using Dale's codes... but I was virtually the only person selling ivories back then and I guess whatever came along was swept up instantly. TheChipBoard wasn't around, either... and I had to rely on Travis' List Serve to list chips and describe notes as best I could w/o a scan... but of course I had a 4-color sales list that buyers/traders requested, but as far as eBay goes; I was out in the cold hoping to attract those who knew me; did business with me... and knew my expert grading as being able to describe a chip as though it was right in front of them. grin

Though it worked well for me back then, today I wouldn't even attempt it with all the eBay sellers... grin
