Epson scanners and Windows 7

I have just completed setting up a new laptop with Windows 7. The only hardware drivers that weren't on the Windows disk were those for the Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner. The updated driver was available on the Epson site though, so those who have bought Epson Perfection scanners should have no problem with it comes time to upgrade to Windows 7.

I am generally pleased with the new Windows. Boot-times are about a quarter of what they were with Windows-XP, but I do have many fewer programs to load in the START folder now. My HP laptop came with the Windows 7 Professional 64 bit version, which doesn't seem to have any problems with running some older programs that I've had for a while.

I bought the "PC Mover" program at Costco to move stuff from my old PC to the new. It worked fine and I'd recommend it if you buy a new PC with Windows 7 installed. I moved my applications from XP to Windows 7 with no problem. You get the professional version which includes the cable to connect the old-to-new and supposedly speeds up the transfer. I let mine run overnight, and it still took about 4 hours to complete!

From all I've heard and experienced, Microsoft has a winner with the new version.

I still have a Vista upgrade package that I've never used if anyone wants it for the cost of postage.
