the NCAA meets with USC in early February. The scuttle is sanctions due to the Reggie Bush thing...no one knows how severe -- loss of scholarships, vacating records, who knows. I can tell you that the USC fans are happy to get Kiffin back for who he brings -- his dad & Ed Orgeron. And then there's the rumor that Norm Chow might be leaving UCLA to join them...a devastating blow to my Bruins, but they never really had the talent to make Chow look good.

As a fan of LA sports, I was sorry to see Pete Carroll leave. As a Bruin fan, a tinge of happiness. I was actually sad about it for my daughter wondering if USC would slide back to the dreadful days of Smith & Hackett. I know some people that went to USC during those years & said that the school was fun, but nothing like when McKay, Robinson & then Carroll were coaching.

I'm torn...can you tell??
