UNLV publishes some very interesting tables on the business of gambling in Nevada. I have a link to the 2010 tables shown below.

Did you know that 11% of the money won in Nevada gambling came from the game of Baccarat! The handle on the game just in the month of August came to over $2 billion! And only 5% of tables are Baccarat. The report speculates on "trouble ahead" for the casinos if this big money play continues on an extremely volatile game.

The percent hold on each game is also listed. You will likely find some surprises there. Las Vegas Advisor this month has a blurb comparing one casino's slot hold to the average for Las Vegas. Only one casino agreed to expose their monthly hold for comparison. You may be surprised to find which one this was, and how they compared. It's unfortunate the LVA's on line newsletter has an error that misplaces the decimal point in this comparison. The numbers compared are the percent divided by 100. The comparison is still valid, though.
