I am sure there are some wooden ones out there, hope you find some. When I started in the business in 1981 everything was plastic. We refer to the fancy chip carriers as "Bird Cages", not to be confused with the chuck-a-luck Bird Cages for dice.

As for the Bird Cages for chips... Spinetti's had the best prices I have ever seen for chip carriers and I ended up purchasing 4 of them a couple of years ago, and they are much higher quality than the ones we were using. Awesome customer service too. GPI, Midwest Gaming Supply, and Tripp Plastics were over double the price.
