melting lucite on chips?

OK...I hear that it can't be done but I am bored and am curious about the results of trying to remove the lucite from Casino chips embedded in same.
I have a couple I'd like to experiment with.

Anyone here ever try? Care to share the results?

I considered melting in the oven(probably not a great idea). Boiling in water: meh...maybe. Using acetone to dissolve the lucite: would have to cut as much lucite away as posssible, or freezing the thing and then wrapping it in a towel(so that I do not lose an eye or "chip a tooth"(get it?) and then hitting it with a hammer the next day or so.
Yes,I know...idol minds grin
Any comments or suggestions?

Sometimes if you hit it just right on the edge ~~~
BTW, if you do decide to ~~~
1.Polish the lucite surface. 2. Display as is. grin
