I have heard it both Ways.

Early Video Poker machines dealt 10 cards. 5 in front 5 behind.

I have alse heard that newer machines Dealt the cards the same way as you and an actual dealer were going Head to Head.

Larry Hollibaugh may have the real answer to the question.
