NCR You can now run IE-9

if you have Windows 7 or Vista on your pc... and if you are willing to put up with a Beta test version. It was available for download from Microsoft on Wednesday and I've put about 10-15 hours on it.

It is the Beta test version, and yes, it has a few glitches. But it is fast, the main controls are simpler than IE-8, and if you have a graphics accelerator in your system and a processor with two or more cores, the new version will use them.

I've had no problems with this BB (thanks, David!) or with eBay's site.

None of the glitches I've experienced hung the system, but I did have to restart the browser to solve two of the problems. It's several months until the production version of the browser is expected, so this is one way to get familiar with IE-9 before then.

If you are hanging onto Windows XP, don't plan on this updated browser ever being supported by your operating system. It's only planned to be released for Windows Vista, SP2 and for Windows 7.

Below is a link to an extensive review that you might find interesting if you are technically minded.
