move on...in most cases. I have made counter-offers on items that were priced close to what I wanted to pay if that item hadn't sold at the asking price. I have also entertained counter-offers from people that have wanted to buy items from me, but at a lower price. But without an idea of what the seller is looking to get, I usually will just pass.
