My observation

Poker player skills have increased quickly due to on-line sites to practice on. The games are tougher, so if you're not improving your game, you are probably losing more often.

BJ rules have changed also, are you playing at tables where BJ pays 6 for 5 instead of 3 for 2? Even if you are risk intolerant, do you up your bets when winning, and decrease or take a break when losing? I usually quit a "hot" dealer or cold table when I lose three hands in a row. Either the other players are "affecting" your cards, the dealer is too hot, or its not your day. There are other tables or other days to play.

Do you scout a table before jumping in? This counts in poker and BJ.
Is everyone having a good time? Usually in BJ, that means everyone is winning (dealer is busting). The way the cards come off in BJ, what is the dealer's up card? Is it a ten or six?

In poker, that usually means they are here to play and to throw chips around. Are there a lot of callers in each hand? Does one player have all the chips, he may have bought in a lot, or he's super hot and everyone is paying him off.

Good luck!
