I had just sent a handfull of old collectable banknotes to my father in Renton, Washington. He had them for all of three days when his house was broken into and his entire coin collection (notes and all) was stolen. Also a very substantial lifetime stamp collection is gone. The good news is one of their neighbors intervened and called the police while the burglary was in progress. They were able to get a description of the four people and two vehicles. Just hung up the phone with his neighbor after thanking them for cutting the thieves a little short.

Good New Years resolution would be to itemize and photograph your collections!!
