Re: UK Casino Closures
In Response To: UK Casino Closures ()

I wonder which other Stanleys will go - I would bet on Brighton, being the smallest of the Brighton casinos. I was down there a couple of months ago and on a Friday evening it was amazingly quiet - we had to get them to open the 3-Card table for us (it was early evening, but no so early that I expected there to be no-one else in there!)

Southend is probably big enough to survive, but it just isn't as welcoming as the old Westcliff used to be, and they must have spend a lot of cash on the major refurbishment, especially since they changed the entrance to the other end which means you don't have to go past the restaurant area to get to the tables - when I was last there, people I was chatting to didn't realise that the restaurant was there!!

And of course, just less cash around I guess at the moment.

p.s. - any of those roulettes for sale/trade?

Jason
