NCR...Random Acts of Kindness

On the drive through line at Dunkin Donuts, the person in front of him paid for my husbands coffee and drove off. It was such a simple gesture but changed his whole outlook on the day, it was all he could talk about as it made his day.

I live in NY and everyone is in such a rush all the time and you can almost count on someone being rude to you at some time of the day especially if you dare to go Christmas Shopping. I couldn't believe how many people dont hold doors open for the person behind them anymore or give up their seat for an ederly person.

Every year, I have made it my goal to do something nice for someone in my life without their knowledge that I had done it. Those acts are to me the most satisfying. For example, I have paid the oil company fill a strugglling neighbors oil tank, to this day she thinks the oil company made a mistake and filled her tank without billing her. When it snowed, I paid some local teenagers to dig out an ederly neighbor who still believes that they did it on their own...etc.

We all do random acts of kindness for those we care about but how often do we reach out to a stranger? I realized that other than a few donations, I rarely reach out to a stranger so I have made it my goal to try to do so. Random acts of kindness are contageous. If you can today, do something nice for a stranger and change their day.

Merry Christmas.
