Not sure of exact technology, but very similar...

to polarized. HOWEVER, having said that there was no discomfort, no "sweet spot" for viewing and one size fits all worked without issues over my glasses!

While the regular version was simply SPECTACULAR, the 3-D was also SPECTACULAR.

I was very gratefull that the 3-D process was just a part of the filming and not the focus. They did NOR having something spinning out of control into your face every 3 minutes! The effect was completely integrated into the movie so that it enhanced and did not interfer.

I can recommend either version equally! But the 3-D does have a price premium added on.
