Slabbing Pledge discussion

with the recent discussions, I thought it valuable to bring up a point that I believe is important.

My first point (observation) is, the value of the "Pledge" is that it is a powerful tool. A tool that can motivate slabbers to stop slabbing. A tool that might prevent potential slabbers from ever getting started.

Personally, I believe in this concept, and I signed the Pledge back when it was started.

Now....for a point that I feel needs discussion and consideration.

I feel the list needs constantly reviewed and updated. Sellers need to added, and or removed from the list. Yes, you read correctly....I said removed from the list.

The idea of this Pledge as a tool is all about motivation. We are trying to motivate those slabbing and or selling slabbed chips not to participate is that behavior. However, if a person or company sells some slabbed chips, and then is notified of our position, what is their motivation to stop the behavior if they will not removed from the list if they stop.

There would be no reason for them to stop selling slabbed chips if the "pledge people" are still boycotting them. I think good behavior ( the ending of selling and slabbing) needs to result in the people removed from the boycott list. Perhaps we need to have a time duration, or a probation period. Do successfully operate an anti slabbing list and boycott, we have to be active, proactive and reactive.

Obviously, this is going to need debate and I think there is no time like the present. I normally would spend more time writing this all up, but to be honest, I'm just too tired from my trip. I do at least want to get the ball rolling.

Lets all make sure we stay level headed and non biased. We need to make sure that the personal opinions of who is a jerk and who is a good guy does not come into play.
