Are We Ready for Some OTY Action?....

As noted previously, the next issue of the Club's Award winning magazine will contain several inserts, one of which is the Nomination Form for OTY 2009. As in past years, there are, technically, four (4) OTY categories as detailed in the following.

Please know that there are two changes to the overall OTY process, but in-principal, the contests are still based on Nominating eligible candidates and then Voting on the top ten finishers in each category to determine a winning entrant in each category.

The two changes are:

1. The Judge's Pamphlets will now be printed in the Club's Award winning magazine, in the issue expected to be published on or about April 1st, 2010.

2. In being able to present the Judge's Pamphlet to the entire membership (be sure to share the magazine with your Associate members that are affiliated to your membership) OTY voting will now be open to any and all ccgtcc Members in good standing at the time of voting.

It is important to point out that because we are going to print the Judge's Pamphlet as part of the April/May/June issue, which has an article submission date of about March 1st, we will have an extremely tight Nomination window of 1 January through 1 February! As in past years, Nominations will be accepted by snail mail (using the CCTN insert) as well as by email.

Email submissions may be done in several ways, to include scanning a filled-in Nomination Form and sending that in, or by specifying in the body of an email message what candidates are being nominated. However, when doing so in this manner, submissions MUST follow the categorizations and headings found on the Nomination Form. Please be clear on what you nominate and do not assume that the OTY Chairman or Assistant Chairman is so familiar with your choice that a partial description will work.

Please note that this message is just an advance notice of the up coming opening date of the contest (1 January) and is NOT intended to begin the nomination process. We still have several weeks and several major holidays coming that typically see quite a few late-in-the-year qualifiers in all categories. When it comes time to nominate, we hope you visit the Un-Official OTY Viewing Sites, which have been open all year long, to take a look at some candidate contenders for nomination.

If you have a favorite or two (or more) not shown, please know that the site is self-service and anyone can (and is encouraged to do so) upload their own scans of qualified candidates so that others may see additional contenders. Links to those sites are:

Again, this is an advance notice. The on-line announcement (January 1st) will contain complete details and rules! In the meantime, please help the contest by visiting and adding to the Un-Official OTY Viewing sites!

Thank you and please join in, especially for the nominating portion, as the more nominations we get the better the race for the voters!
