I hadn't heard about Wilbur's San Diego hotel

Your post led me to scan some of the history regarding Wilbur Clark's hotel interests. Here's an interesting link to Clark being questioned by the Committe on Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce around 1950. His ownership of the Barbara Worth and some lounges and card rooms in California are mentioned.
