Re: Since we're on the matchbook thing......*g* grin

Thanks, Eric...Lew Hymers did some great stuff...and you have some GREAT covers!! grin

As for the Ideal Bar...your cover could very well be older than the 1950's. The Ideal Club was listed in the 1939 phone book, as well as all the state-wide phone books that we have from 1945-1952, at 251 Bridge Street with the phone number of 56. It's actually listed like this: Ideal Club liquor 251 Bridge.......56 (well, their printing isn't quite as bold, but the word liquor is in a lighter font, so it isn't part of the name. BUT...the Ideal Club listing is gone by the 1955 phone book.

Searching the 1955 phone book, I found that Monte's Club is listed at 251 Bridge...and they have the phone #56. (TGT #3 lists Monte's Bar, Bridge St, Winnemucca, opened 1940's-closed 1940's).

Hmmmmm....
The 1939, 1945 and 1950 phone books, in addition to the Ideal Club, all list: Montero F liquor 251 Bridge........56

Monte's Club is still listed in 1959, but is gone by 1963.

Hope someone found this interesting! grin
