for sale are sets of personal chips from the estate auction of Louis J. Pearlman. Pearlman was was known in the 1990s entertainment business for being the manager of famous American boy bands the Backstreet Boys and 'NSync (both of which later sued him, but settled).

Lou was rich.

He had it all - the cars, the mansion in Florida.

However, Lou was greedy. In 2006, it came to light that Pearlman had perpetrated one of the biggest and longest running Ponzi schemes in American history, leaving close to half a billion dollars in debts. (Small potatoes next to the recent Bernie Madoff rip-off.) For more than 20 years Pearlman enticed individuals and banks to invest in Transcontinental Airlines Travel Services Inc. and Transcontinental Airlines Inc., which existed only on paper. On May 21, 2008, Pearlman was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison, after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy, money laundering, and making false statements during a bankruptcy proceeding.

In order to try and return some cash to the investors, the assets of Mr. Pearlman were sold in a bankruptcy auction. One of those assets was his personal poker chip set:

Each set sold will consist of ten (10) chips - two (2) of each denomination, so that both sides can be displayed. I will also include a COPY of the document from the case.
