I have changed my mind about this chip Rog...

and thanks for sending one to me. The first thing I noticed about it was the cigarette burn. How did it get there if it was a COAT CHECK? Maybe somebody had a handy dandy RONCO Pocket Arc Welder? vbg I was assuming that you only had one of them... but if you still have the one in your first post as I am sure you do... IMHO it can't be a coat check and Kurt was right... it was used for poker. TGT lists a 87 Casino, Bar & Grill in Stanford, Montana but I have no idea how long the joint has been open and this chip is in my opinion pre 1950 and no doubt has no connection.
