Re: I'd say the operation at Fort Hood is one of t

John, my post was made more in sarcasm than in humor. It is indeed a VERY tragic event. I was AMAZED that such an event could have happened on one of America’s finest military facilities with such highly trained and well equipped people yet the swat team was called in to stop a man that was so under armed.

I would have expected this guy to have been splattered like a bug within seconds by the military personnel before outside agencies were involved. If we need the swat team to protect our military, maybe they should be in Afghanistan and Iraq protecting our military as well.

A man with an ‘Arabic sounding name’. is of the Muslim faith, is sympathetic to suicide bombers, is disgruntled about being deployed, has been criticized by colleagues at Walter Reed, takes 2 handguns and kills and wounds as many people as he did is mind boggling. Because no one saw the signs (or were afraid of the ACLU) and he was acting against the finest most well equipped army on earth and succeeded in his mission. Even Archie was in disbelief that only 2 handguns were used, not M-16 machineguns as had been speculated.

No, it is not funny. It is disgusting that we allow this BS to happen on US soil on what would be considered the safest place on earth. Evidently we were mistaken.
