MOGH -- Kind of a request [...but actually more].

I just came from the club message board reading Mike's response to both my questions (read Jim's yesterday). Thank you both...!

Though both responses are far, far from what I thought was in the works thus far, it's still very refreshing to know that there is and has been a lot of hard work over the past several years to bring the CCGTCC Museum of Gaming History to a level of reality... but while reading this portion of Mike's post was a bit depressing: "As for the material thus far, it's rather limited. There are a couple slot machines, chips, and other assorted artifacts that have been donated."

I was expecting something like: "Oh, man... we got footlockers of stuf and don't know what all to do with it."

Mike does go on to mention that there have been provisions made in some members' wills for donations.

[I sure hope I don't get the usual responses from some of our more vocal contributors to this board for what I'm about to express; it wouldn't be fair and does not serve the overal purpose of what's trying to be accomplished.]

I think it's time for us to get up off the log...!

There isn't a day that passes that I do not see chips making their treck throughout the field by our members; eBay Auctions, trades, for sale or simply rather generous gifts to those new to our wondeful hobby... and to read what Mike is explaing regarding my question of what has been amassed thus far thru the years is indeed a little depressing.

Though I have never been a curator of a museum, I have made my share of contributions of books, chips, documents and plaques to museums, historical societies, libraries and casinos and their owners/operators both here in the USA and in Europa... and have rceived letters of thanks from curators and librarians which expressed enthusiasm as to what all has be donated.

Now that its been made known to me by both Jim and Mike that there's also a place for other areas of gaming in the collection; Illegas, Riverboats, Native-Amerian and Cruise ships... I can at least donate some of my historic pieces... and, being a salesman for the greater part of my adult life; I'd like to reach out by asking that you, too, do what you can in order to not only make this dream possible in the not too far off future, but most importantly show those who just might be willing to assist us that we as a group are serious and really care, for without a pig, goat and a chicken... there just ain't no farm.

I'd also like to see those who took the time to respond to my initial post via private e-mail a few days ago to please chime in on the technical level of your experties.

Thanks...
