There are lots of old Tahoe photos on the wall of the Biltmore near the hotel registration desk, including some fantastic shots of old north shore casinos (Cal Neva Biltmore, Ta-Neva-Ho). The Crystal Bay Club, across the street from the Biltmore, also has lots of old photos on display.

You won't find much live gaming during the day on the north shore except at the Hyatt in Incline Village, but the people in the cages usually have been accommodating to chip requests. Reggie's suggestion about taking Mt. Rose Highway is a good one, unless it's snowed in. There aren't many prettier drives anywhere.
