Estate auction
In Response To: ccgtcc Some good news-please read ()

Sandi & I attended her estate auction Friday. While there were a lot of very interesting items from the household, there was not a lot of casino related pieces. I did find a few that would be nice for the museum and I am trying to get these from the successful bidders. Nothing like what they sent to Jim Kruse but neverthe less still interesting items.

From the household there were about 100 ladies purses, very high quality that were selling for about $500 each. How about a full length mink coat that retailed for about $10000, but only sold for $800. About 20 big boxes of books - $150.00 for the lot. Many Laleek (spelling) crystal pieces selling for $300 - 1000 each.

Claudine at one time had a restaurant, I think at the golden Nugget. For $50 you could have had two nice large glass ovals pieces with "Claudine's" engraved on them. Also about 10 dinner plates with gold chargers with her name.

Shelby was heavily into horses and there was a lot of derby related horse items. Alos a nice collection of guns, both hand and shot. I missed out on a nice old sign from the Silver Slipper Board Room. Very interesting auction overall, many, many very high priced items. She has the top quality pieces and they reflected her high class.

Nice to see the family remembered us and sent some better items. Very thoughtful and much appreciated.
