Sierra Leone auction #4 - movie props

ccgtcc member David Spragg's (LM 6160-166) wife works full time for charity to increase literacy in Sierra Leone, as well as delivering medical supplies to the region.

For those not familiar with Sierra Leone (myself included), "Sierra Leone, on the Atlantic Ocean in West Africa, is half the size of Illinois. Guinea, in the north and east, and Liberia, in the south, are its neighbors. Mangrove swamps lie along the coast, with wooded hills and a plateau in the interior. The eastern region is mountainous. Constitutional democracy."

I support what Ms. Spragg is doing. Once life's basics have been established (food, shelter and human rights), I think one of the next best things that can be provided is the chance to learn.

That being said, I would like to send Ms. Spragg off with an additional $200 on her next visit in November. I am going to put up several auctions until I hit my goal. These will be a different type of auction. I will post an item, and if I like the bid, it will be SOLD. If I consider the bid a little short, I will say "Please try again". If someone outbids you in the meantime, then they take the item.
Make me an offer - you may be surprised.

As a disclaimer: I am the sole person responsible for these auctions and any issues or problems with them. David Spragg™ and any subsidiaries of Spragg Enterprises™ have no liability. grin

This auction consists of two lots. First are some items from the fictional Red Dragon Casino as seen in the movie "Rush Hour 2". Comes with a COPY of the COA for the chips.

Next up are two plastic prop coins from the movie "Sahara". Comes with a COPY of the COA. They are smaller than a standard casino chip.

The coin was modeled after the 1904 U.S. (liberty head design) $20 Coronet double eagle coin. According to a website I found:

"The final lot consisted of an unspecified number of so-called "Background Confederate gold colored plastic coins" used for the purpose of set dressing of a cave towards the end of the film. It appeared to be several dozen pieces. Interestingly, the bogus Double Eagles do not contain the word 'copy' anywhere on them, as required by the Hobby Protection Act. When Coin World called this to the attention of the U.S. Secret Service, a spokesperson eventually told us that if we could determine that the coins were manufactured in the United States, and not overseas, they would look into the matter."

I later found out that the coins were made in the UK, where much of the movie's interiors were filmed.
