Well now, I talked the talk and tonight all the donators walked the walk. We all were a hit at our team fund raising tent. I printed out my donor list and proudly wore it around my neck. I put my 20 year and Life member CC & GTCC pins on the list to honor all the chippers that donated. Together we had 61 donations for over $2300. Most of the other teams came up to me and said how did you do it? I pointed to the donor list that hung from my neck and told them that I just happened to know a great group of people. I wore the list the entire night. Everyone that donated walked with me in spirit tonight.

I did not know until we arrived that Alexis was the keynote speaker. Alexis is one tough lady. She gave a brave speech about her 3 year battle against blood cancer and how she has already started the 3rd series of treatments after two failed bone marrow transplants. Yes she is still in the ring battling with all her strength. It is such a thrill for her to know that friends of friends care enough to donate in an effort to fight against her blood cancer. We all did well in giving Alexis a little boost of strength for the huge battle still ahead.

Many people are thrown into monster battles and need help and strength. We as a group have provided a step forward for Alexis, her family and all others affected by blood cancers.
