In that picture there are 6 humming birds. They are normally territorial and a male will run-off other males and many females, but they are getting ready to migrate to South America they are losing the territorial instinct and focusing on building up calories for the long flight so they are less aggressive to other humming birds and impatient to feed. I estimate I have about 300 right now and I am going through almost 5 pounds of sugar a day (10 feeders- filling 2 times a day). When I am taking them down or putting them back up from filling the birds land all over me (arms and sholders) waiting to get to the feeder. They see me off and o all day and are no longer skittish when I am around.
