I sure would like to be wrong...

Hello John,
I just learned that you and I have something in common other than Chip Collecting. I am also Adult onset TypeII diabetic. I found out about three years ago, I knew something was wrong because at times it felt like my head was going to explode. I was without any insurance so I made several trips to the local grocer's pharmacy to check my blood pressure. One day there was a group of volunteer nurses with a table set up for $25 flu shots. I sat down and filled out the paperwork, paid, and prepaired to get the shot. The nurse asked me have you been sick lately, fever, vomiting, any flu like symtoms? I said no and my blood pressure is normal but my head feels like it is going to explode and I often feel faint and close to blacking out. She asked if I was up several times in the middle of the night to urinate and I said yes. She told me to get checked for dibetes. I thought it was more than that because I could feel problems with my heart, my lungs, and my Kidneys that I found out later were being caused by the diabetes, and all those muscle aches and pains that I had felt for years were also caused by it. I spent some time looking for a doctor at free clinics and such but I made too much money to qualify. I got real lucky to find a family doctor that would see me for $4 per minute. We talked for about 12 minutes about my symtoms before he stamped his paper to start the exam. The initial visit cost me $36 and the blood work cost $250 after negotiating a "half price if you pay now" deal with the lab. In the follow up visit I was told that if I could lose about 50 pounds, there was a good possibility that I could get the diabetes under control. So I did and I am for the most part better.

So with all that said I will share with you a couple of things that I have learned. I now have insurance but I was worried about keeping the same doctor with records of pre existing conditions. He said don't worry about that, they have to treat you. He wanted me to get a pnemonia shot but he said that the pharmacy would give me the injection. I was curious to know why the injection would not be given in his office. He told me that it has something to do with medicare and that the government will not pay for injections and as a result, they no longer give injections in the office. With that I was off to the Pharmacy to get the dose at a cost of $135 plus $45 for the injection not covered by my insurance. I feel very lucky to have a doctor that has a genuine concern for my health. Just before the convention in June I had my regular 6 month appointment and I asked him, how do you feel about government health care? His response was, "I am scared to death!" I think everybody should ask their doctor the same question.

QUESTION: What is the first thing this government will do, if they get this Health Care plan passed?
ANSWER: Although most have voted against it in the past, this government will then have it in their best interest and personal agenda to reform the TORT law. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tort

QUESTION: Why is it so important for this government to get their Health Care Plan in place?
ANSWER: It is big business and it means big money for the government and their personal interests.

Health Care Reform sounds like we are going to fix what is broken. The fact is that only the government's existing healthcare is broken. WHY? Because of the govenment's inability to function without special interests groups, pay offs, and personal agendas. Only 15% of existing healthcare in this country has big problems and it is the 15% that is controlled by the government. I am not saying that we should not fix the 15% that is broken. I think that is exactly what needs to be fixed and not by "reinventing the wheel." Fix what is broken and prove to me that you can make your 15% work by eliminating the known problems of fraud, tort, and all of the people coming into this country for no other reason other than FREE health care. Americans are a "kind hearted & caring" people who would like to see misery and starvation eliminated, and freedom in the entire World. The fact is that the greed and irresponsible actions of a just a few, has caused us to circle the drain, and this all was allowed to happen by our government, both Democrats and Republicans are to blame and it is very disturbing to me that many of the people that are responsible are still in this government labeled as "uniquely qualified for the job." This governmant does need to CHANGE, but it needs to start with cleaning up the fraud at the top. Just saying a bill has "NO PORK or SPECIAL INTERESTS" in it does not make it so, and the fact that a great portion of that bill was filled with PORK tells me that you lie and can not be trusted.
The man in the picture below does not understand his situation because he was only doing what has been done in this government for decades. This is what has to CHANGE and the policies that this government wants to adopt will only insure that we continue our "good ol' boy" style of government, all in the name of saving this government. We DO NEED to CHANGE many things in the country. In my opinion the direction he has US headed is straight down the drain. I am sure John that you think he is right, and I am also sure that HE thinks he is right. My question to you is this... what happens if I am right? Now is not the time for any new BIG government programs like Cap & Trade or Health Care Reform. What we need is Government Reform from the top down.
USA God Bless America - I love my country. USA
