I just drooled all over my keyboard!! mad

You have some fabulous covers, Eric! grin

John's Bar:
Opened in July of 1937 as a bar and slots-only joint until October of 1940 when John (John Etchebarren...the owner) received a license for a football pool. In January of 1946 Wayne Martin was licensed for a roulette game and a 21 game (sounds like he bought the business, but that isn't directly stated). There's a couple of other owners/ownership changes mentioned, then in February 1947 the place was sold and the name was changed to the Stork Club.

116 Club:
Opened on December 30, 1939. In 1941 the club was sold to Willi Bruecker, Marcel Peters and K.D. Dalrymple (hence "Dals" 116 Club grin ). The club was famous for its restaurant, the gaming was there mainly as a convenience for its customers. Dalrymple managed the bar...in 1952 "Dal" Dalrymple left the partnership...the 116 closed in April 1955 when they were unable to renew their lease with the owners of the Pearson-Cafferata building.

The Capitol:
Opened in April 1931, licensed for one roulette game, one 21 game and six slot machines. (Don't ya just love that grin ...today a casino doesn't open without hundreds of machines, and at least several dozen table games...). Sold in 1934 and licensed for one roulette game and one 21 game. Sold a couple more times, and at some point a craps table was added to the license. Closed in 1948.
