Extra! Another CollectionLibrary enhancement! Extra!

I knocked out another enhancement request this weekend. I know this is something that I've discussed with a couple of users over the past few years... I finally dove in and got it done. I hope you enjoy it!

Quick Explanation: You can now publish items from your collection to show up on your "custom" web pages.

Long Explanation: By default all sites have the following pages created when you initially sign up for the service: "Home", "My Collection", "My Traders", "Want List" and "eBay Auctions".

In addition to these standard pages, you can also create "Custom" pages. This custom pages feature has always part of the existing functionality of the Collection Library service. (This can be accomplished from the [Advanced Settings] button from the main menu).

Many people have used the custom pages feature and have indicated that they wished they could publish items from their collection onto those pages. For example, maybe you like "Halloween Chips" and you'd like to setup a web page to show just those items...

Shown below is how my web site looks after I added a new custom page called "Favorite Chips"

The first step in this process is to create a new "Custom" web page. From the main menu, you need to select the [Advanced Settings] button. The select the [Add Custom Pages] button. From this screen, you can press the [Add New Page] button.

After you have added your new custom page, you can now find one or more items in your collection and publish them on this new custom page. Let's exit back to the main menu and go into the [Update my Collection] screen. Pick an item and select [Edit Selected Item]. Once inside the edit screen, click on the [Page 2] tab (see example below):

From this tab, you can publish this item on your Collection, Trader and/or Want List pages. Also on the right-hand side I've circled the new options which allow you to also publish the item on up to three custom pages. Just select [Set Page] and the following screen pops up:

Highlight the custom page that you want to use, then press the [Select] button.

Please note that I've also placed a button titled "Custom Page Maintenance". This allows you to jump directly to the custom page maintenance screen without having to exit all of the way out and go into the [advanced settings] choice from the main menu.

I really fast tracked this new feature and hopefully there aren't too many bugs!

If you find any problems, please feel free to email me or make a post on the chip board... (I get a lot of spam everyday and will most likely miss your email message if I haven't already added you to spam filter).

Thanks!
