Re: Weird Mold? -- Borland #16
In Response To: Weird Mold? ()

Bill Borland, who is mention a lot on this board, was a pioneer chip dealer. In 1988 he came out with his famous "The Official Blue Book of Casino Chips and Gaming Tokens," a big looseleaf volume of all the casino chips in the world that he knew of. In the introduction of the book, he listed (with pictures) "mould designs" which he numbered from 1 thru 34. His #16 is just like the ones you referred to. Borland didn't go into many details about #16 -- he didn't describe its composition or manufacturer or where it was used. It hasn't been found on many casino chips.

¶ Beautiful earth-tone coloring and slot machine decor -- notice the "Seeburg" pay-off schedule, slot reel symbols, slot machine handle on the right, and pay-off coin tray w/ coins (or tokens). The bottle is in the shape of the iconic main Resorts building. I'm not sure of the date of issue; I've had mine for many years.
¶ Rare, excellent condition, about 9 x 7 x 3 inches, empty (no liquor).
¶ $80.00 plus actual postage. Be the first to claim it by email to me or a post here. PayPal or a check is OK.
¶ Reverse auction -- Reverse auction means I will drop price on subsequent postings until sold, or I decide to keep this wonderful item.

Unlike other decanters, the Michter's Whiskey Resorts International Casino decanter is very rare. I have always treasured it.. For a while I thought I was the only person in the world who had one. For years I never saw another one. I was fortunate to pick up this one, which I am selling here. (My original one I'll keep in my personal collection forever.)

front --The front reads:
¶ top (cork cap): "Resorts" (embossed lettering)
¶ near the top: "Michter's Pot Still Sour Mash Whiskey, 86 Proof, 4/5 quart, Distilled and bottled by Michter's Jug House, Schaefferstown, Pa.
¶ center: "Seeburg" and pay-out chart.
¶ bottom in embossed lettering: "Resorts International Hotel Casino."
