Re: Ugly chip blow out

IMHO these chips were in a house fire. sad If you look at the inlad ARABIAN chip on the left there is evidence of a fire with the black ringed shadow from a chip that was laying on top of it. It appears that the fire was put out before the chips were completely destroyed but the water damage is obvious. If you have never had your house go up in flames I can tell you it is DEVISTATING, can you imagine the heart break with all of your chips covered in ash and water?

SOME ADVISE FOR COLLECTORS: Take a few minutes to inspect your electronic gear in your house. Especially "wall warts" ie DC voltage power supplies, extention cords, and terminal strips that are plugged into other terminal strips. If you are using any BROWN extention cords get rid of them. Feel the wires for heat... if there is heat in the wire, then the wire is too light for the job. It is not uncommon for a DC power supply to be warm to the touch but if is HOT... replace it!

I am not a fireman but as one of my jobs at work, I am Safety Manager and OSHA Certified Compliance Officer. Only in America USA
