I haven't had a casino examine a bill in years

My guess is that with inflation, and the failure of the FRB to issue larger denominations than $100, it just isn't worth it to spend employees' time to look for counterfeits. It's possible that there is a machine in the cage that they periodically run all the currency through, but it's not done when you deal with the cashier at the window.
