vbg It's all GREEK to me!! vbg

The Hellenic Republic of Greece is situated in southeastern Europe on the southern tip of the Balkan Peninsula. The republic includes many islands the most important is Crete. The Greek islands are generally subdivided into two groups, according to location: the Ionian islands (including Corfu, Cephalonia, and Leucas) west of the mainland and the Aegean islands (including Euboea, Samos, Chios, Lesbos, and Crete) to the east and south. North-central Greece, Epirus, and western Macedonia are all mountainous. ENJOY!!

Drachmai: δραχμή - Drakhme meaning "a handful" derived from the verb δράττω - dratto "to grasp". It is also an ancient unit of weight equal to 60 grains.

Today's note is a 1939 issue of 1,000 Drachmas printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co (BW&C). The book value on this note is $4.00 and there is no exchange rate because the note is obsolete and Greece is on the Euro.
