NCR: Riviera "Cutting" Staff Again....

The down side of smaller crowds in Vegas lately, is now the shows are starting to hurt.

LaCage has gotten the ax.....

Other shows slated to close are:

Folies Bergere at the Tropicana will close (after 49 years) on March 28, 2009
The Scintas at the LV Hilton will close March 14, 2009
Stomp at PH has already closed.
Menopause at the LV Hilton will close April 5, 2009

BTW, The Pullman Grille (steakhouse) at Main Street Station (downtown) has closed it's doors. Shame, it was such a beautiful dining room.

What scares me is that the article reports that 80 more Riviera employees were laid off....makes me want to go over to the Riviera and start screaming at someone...what WERE they thinking when they copped an attitude 2 years ago with the dart players (and the following year with us) that our clubs just weren't important (and big enough) for their attention anymore - idiots!!
How many more conventions did they chase off, and subsequently cut their own throats?

On the other hand, I have to applaud the South Point for being on the ball and welcoming us with open arms. Very smart!
