just some thoughts
In Response To: Cool 1970's Junket chips... ()

The two casinos were both open between 1979 and 1989, so it would seem that they are probably from the 1980's, and much less likely from the 1970's. I couldn't help but notice, though, that both chips are black Ewing mold chips with identical hot stamps in gold that say "$100" and a much lighter white stamped onto them with the two casino names. In fact, the white stamp does not appear to have left nearly as deep an impression, if any, as the gold, suggesting the white stamping was done by a different process. Also, the Casinos were not owned by the same people, so it would be strange if they used identical chips. My thought would be either, (1) the chips were made by a an outside company for use with their own junkets, or (2) someone thought it was cool to hot stamp Las Vegas casino names on generic $100 chips. Is there any way to verify whether they were ever used at those casinos?
